Ask a health question...why should a cancer patient stay away from amino acids that cause cancer to grow?

Don't feed the enemy: Proteins are made from amino acids. Most cancer treatments are targeted toward killing cancer cells and preventing them from growing. Proteins hence Amino Acids would feed the cells instead of starving them. Not a good idea.

Not so clear: Some Amino Acids can be good and some other can be bad. Still lots of questions up there waiting for answers. Restriction of tyrosine, phenylalanine, leucin might help prevent cancer metastasis- said one study. A study in jama suggested that individuals with higher levels of vitamin b6 and methionine are at a lower risk for developing lung cancer than those who are deficient in the nutrients.
