Not necessarily...: Gabapentin (neurontin) is great for the pain you describe. The fact that it has decreased but you still have some, to me, means you haven't found the right dose yet. You really aren't taking all that much if you take only 300mg one time a day. Talk to your md about increasing the dose, spread over the day. The main side effect to watch for is sedation, so increase the night dose first. Be well.
