Will a moderate stroke from 1.5 years ago still show on an mri?and do "old old" damage and newer old damage look alike, or can they be differentiated?

Stroke and MRI: New strokes look different on an MRI (depending on the type and stage / swelling / bleeding ) The best way to distinguish the difference is to compare to a previous study. Clinical assessment may not always inform you what has transpired as many strokes are clinically silent.
