Tramadol: Tramadol has agonism at the mu-type opioid receptor as well as reuptake inhibition of serotonin and norepinephrine. Functionally, it is an opioid as well as an snri antidepressant. As such, opioid withdrawal (runny nose, muscle aches, headache, diarrhea) as well as snri withdrawal (buzzing, electrical brain sensation, anxiety, depression) occur. Takes a bit more time to wean down and stop.
