Memory problems: The best ways to improve memory are the healthy lifestyle measures: get plenty of exercise (thus extra circulation to brain), eat well with a vitamin supplement, don't smoke, use excessive alcohol, and do get plenty of sleep. In addition you can improve short-term memory by practice. Play memory games or puzzles. They are both relaxing and help your brain improve its performance.

Challenges!: Even dementia patients can learn and improve their memory when challenged, but not stressed. And that is a fine line to find!

How often?: Skip it once, probably not much. Skip it more often and the tuberculosis germ can become resistant to the inh, makes it worse for you (won't kill it off), and for the rest of us (development of multiple drug resistant tuberculosis). It is a real public health problem. You must take your meds.

What are the benefits of choosing specialized memory care accommodation?

Dr. Maureen Nash

Maximizing function : Specialized memory care is set up to help people with dementia be the most functional that they can be. The idea is to compensate for someone's impairments by predictable schedules, a peer group, and easy availability of assistance with adequate supervision for safety. Look for a place that will work for someone with brain problems, not for a place that would have worked for the person before that.
