A member asked:

What is the heritability of different cancers? i have heard about lung, gi, etc, but i am curious about other forms

Not much: There is generally a minor degree of inherited risk in most cancers. The vast majority of cancers have little or no inherited component. I am not aware of clinically significant inherited lung cancers; i think the more likely inherited component is a tendency for smoking.

Many: There are many forms of cancer that may be inherited. Breast colon, prostate, and ovarian are a few more common types.
