Yes it is: Hear irregularity of any kind can give you a sensation like this. These are all called palpitations but their nature hast o be further defined with an ekg. So you should visit your doctor for further evaluation to find the cause and treat it appropriately. You may need to see a cardiologist or start with your primary care doctor or an internist first.
