Corticosteroid Shot?: If you are referring to corticosteroid injections near a spinal? "root" nerve for possibly an arthritic condition that may be causing inflammation and pain, they can help but can have complications that can be serious. If the injection introduces bacteria, an infection can occur. If injected directly into tendons or nerves, it can cause severe damage. Most doctors limit them to 3 or 4 a year.
