Do you Clench jaw?: Your temporal muscle is used to clench the jaw. Some time it goes into spasm. Usually this is from clenching teeth unconsciously under stress. For me it's mowing the lawn. It my mean there is a problem with your jaw called tmj. Grinding teeth in sleep also contributes. A flare can look swollen. The parotid gland is there and can get infected and swollen. It is not subtle. See md to sort out.
