Sorry for the dump question but what bones are where the back dimples are? (is it the lower spine or si joint)

Not dumb, I don't no: I am not looking at someone now ;, it is just a educated guess. I would say the dimple is the top of the si joint. I never paid any attention 2 it. Any one else out there who actually knows. I have seen them 100's of times, but u stumped the expert. Congratulations!

Lower back: In the middle of the lower back - not the si joints.

SI joints: I believe you're referring to the 2 sacroiliac joints on either side at the base of the spine.

SI: Quoted from wikipedia: "the dimples of venus are sagittally symmetrical indentations sometimes visible on the lower back, just superior to the gluteal cleft. They are directly superficial to the two sacroiliac joints, the sites where the sacrum attaches to the ilium of the pelvis.".

SI joint: You are correct. The si joints are deep to the lower back dimples you mention.
