Tolerance: You are probably getting tolerant to the drug. You may try using it again after some time without it.

CPRS itself: It's possible that your skin is overly sensitive to the Lidoderm patch itself, may be lidocaine, some other ingredient in patch, or just the patch. May need to try an analgesic or anesthetic cream instead of a patch.
