Good Question: Everyones' different, sometimes the fetus may pass on it's own, if nothing has happened in 1-2 weeks, discuss with your doctor regarding options such as medicines or procedures.

Miscarriage: With a miscarriage the baby dies before any symptoms (bleeding, cramping) of a miscarriage occur. Sometimes the placenta may continue to live after the baby dies.

Miscarriage: The baby is lost. Sometimes a D&C might be needed to remove the retained tissue. Sometimes the tissue is expelled spontaneously and completely.
