Risks & benefits: Green tea is a good source of antioxidants which may help minimize the impact of environmental toxins on the developing baby. However, it has caffeine & 200 mg of caffeine (found in 25 oz. Of green tea) may double risk of miscarriage.Green tea can also reduce absorption of iron & folic acid. So best to minimize in 1st trimester, use decaf or less than 3 cups/day, and avoid with meals & supplements.
