Can be other reasons: Amitriptyline should have impact on depression and neuropathic pain, perhaps need re-evaluation for atypical facial pain or trigeminal neuralgia. Need to discuss with your primary care physician.

Facial pain numbness: If the conclusion is stress, then keep up with the diagnosis, and ask how you may reduce some of this stress. If this helps, bingo! if no effect, the neurologist may continue to search, maybe for some not so obvious causes. Make sure you don't just give up, because if you don't communicate with your dr. They will assume your no longer having symptoms. Be persistent, but do your part as well.
