A member asked:

Have taken lyrica (pregabalin) for 6 years for nerve pain. about to have gastric bypass and worried about whether i'll be able to continue with lyrica (pregabalin) afterwards.

No direct problem: They should be no problem in using Lyrica (pregabalin) for neuropathic pain after any of the gastric surgeries. One caution is that Lyrica (pregabalin) may cause water retention and weight gain.

You certainly Can: The other thing to consider is that some of your weight may be due to the lyrica (pregabalin). If you go through the trouble of the bypass restarting the Lyrica (pregabalin) could put you back on the road to obesity. I would approach it with caution after the bypass, if you need it for pain control you'll have to take the Lyrica (pregabalin) but beware of the side effects.
