The blood tinged: Sputum could be from the inflammation of ur throat and tonsils. But also could come from inflammation, infection, or tumor (less likely) in your trachea and lungs. Possibly: Tonsilloliths or so called tonsil stones are not stones but either food particles or bacterial colonies in the crypts (indentations) in the tonsillar surface. Bleeding from the tonsil can occur with certain bacterial infections, especially strep. However, it is best that you see an ENT or pulmonologist to make sure the blood tinged sputum is not originating from the tracheo-bronchial system.
