I am 5 weeks 3 days i've had constant medium cramps but no spotting and nausea, hcg 9500 why did dr order ultrasound for next week, what should be seen?

Appropriate hog: Your HCG level is appropriate for a 5 wk 3 day pregnancy. Generally when the HCG level is above 10, 00 the ultrasound will show a fetal heartbeat. You should expect the beta level to double every 48 hrs for the next week. Cramping doesn't mean increased risk of miscarriage and it's still a bit early for nausea. Lack of spotting is reassuring.
