A member asked:

Please tell me what are diseases of the uvea of the eye?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Uveitis / Iritis: The uveal tract of the eye includes the iris, ciliary body, and choroid. Inflammation usually affects the iris / ciliary body, and causes redness, aching pain, light sensitivity, blurred vision, and floaters. It can be vision threatening if not treated, and should be treated by an ophthalmologist. There are many causes, mostly immune in nature, but some from infections.
