Normal: Your heart rate increases during exercise to increase blood flow to your muscles/body, which need the increased oxygenation to continue burning energy. As far as how many calories are burned, this will depend on your bmi as well as the exercise that is being done, the intensity at which it is being done, and the time length of the exercise.
