Uncommon for adults: Most people experience this pattern illness in early to middle childhood. It is passes in the saliva starting a day or so before the first fever, clears the saliva as the fever fades, but persists in the stool for weeks. If you never had it and were significantly exposed you are likely to get it. I've seen a few parents get it from their kids who got it at daycare.
