Immune Destruction: Immune destruction caused by the death or weakening on the immune cells by a chronic infection caused by the HIV virus. At some point, usually years after infection, the immune system cannot keep up with the chronic destruction of its cells and weakens to a point where it can no longer fight off infections, even simple ones.
