Depends: Anyone at any age can acquire a viral infection of the heart muscle that could lead to heart failure. It is rare, but happens.There are many "heart"issues that are more specific to an age range or genetic inheritance. Teens are not going to have the same type of heart problems that many 50-70 yo will have.
