Where?: I see that you've been waiting for an answer for a while. Without much info, a "boil" cannot be named medically so it is impossible to answer. In fact, without seeing the patient with pertinent medical history, it is likely that no answers would be of much use for you. In the mouth, especially on gums, a "boil" often appears as a result of tooth infection. If it's in the mouth, see a dentist!
