No cure: There is no cure as yet for Familial Mediterranean Fever, which is due to a recessive inherited gene. The prevention with colchicine iss the best treatment for preventing attacks and also amyloidosis. Current Il-1 and TN factors are being studied but long term results are needed because to date just treating acute attacks will not prevent amyloidosis.
