A member asked:

I am 35 & high blood pressure 148/96.during exercise what should be target heart rate for me as i m having high b.p?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A. Heart Assoc.: I believe the target hr for you during aerobic exercise is 93-157 and the maximal hr is 185. Note aerobic exercise is believed by many to lower resting bp, and resistance exercise might do the same. Mixed data from studies. Remember to factor in the effects of commonly ingested substances such as caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, tea, chocolates, etc. Many are ergogenic / performance altering. Thanks.
