Large doses of anti-: Biotics are sometimes necessary. People often take probiotics along with them to replace the good bacteria in the gut that also gets killed off. The world is becoming resistant to antibiotics, not just you. Some use or supplement antibiotics w/olive leaf extract. Peace and good health.

Yes and no: Whether one takes an antibiotic , there is a risk for the bacteria to become resistant to it via genetic mutation. This is especially true when a full course of the prescribed antibiotic was not taken. Since this affects the bacteria itself, how good your immune system is has no bearing on the development of resistance. Thus it is best not to take an abx for a cold which will recover with time.
