A member asked:

If i get transfused, will i have a higher hematocrit and greater athletic ability?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No : You should only get transfused if you are truly anemic. If your blood counts are normal and you get a transfusion anyway, you increase your risk of heart attack and stroke due to the increased thickness of the blood.
