Maybe: Only 1 day of antibiotics may not be enough time to decrease the fever caused by the body's response to the infection. Try using tylenol (acetaminophen) to decrease the fever and let the antibiotic take effect in 2-3 days. If still with persistent fever despite even tylenol (acetaminophen) or age appropriate ibuprofen, then see the dr. Again. Best wishes.
