Yes: Tb can affect the brain (lining of th brain). AML can rarely involve the lining of the brain as well. Maybe that is what your doctor is searching for...

Need to assess: Would not avoid MRI brain, as this is part of evaluation of her confusion. A lumbar puncture might be an additional intervention. Tuberculosis could cause brain issues, such as a tuberculoma, or chronic meningitis. The answer may be medication adverse effects. The leukemia could be playing an underlying role also.
