Fluid in joint: Mild effusion simply refers to mild fluid in the joint. If your MRI is otherwise normal, than the main treatment at this point would be time and continued home exercises/physical therapy. It may help you to know that in many cases, swelling is the last thing to go, but does not necessarily mean anything bad as long as you are progressing with range of motion and strengthening.

Perhaps: You have tenosynovitis from prior trauma (assuming there is no fracture). Make sure your exam is reviewed by someone with musculoskeletal MRI proficiency.
