A member asked:

Diagnosed with "nonspecific mild salmon colored tissue in esophagus biopsied" what does the non specific part mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not sure?: The finding of "salmon colored" mucosa in the esophagus is usually associated with Barrett's esophagus. The "non specific" descriptor may mean that the endoscopist saw something that looked like Barrett's and biopsied it. The pathologist examining the biopsy material will be able to answer that question one way or another.
