Yes.: Yes, i think so.It is an ssri and also a serotonin agonist so that you increase the amount of serotonin in the synapses which is responsible for the antidepressant effect. However, there are other antidepressants that are just as good, depending on the type of your depression. There are individual responses to different antidepressants.

Yes: Viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) has been around for a while now, and has an excellent track record as an antidepressant. When taking a full therapeutic dose, most of my patients experience significant improvement with very little in the way of side effects.

Viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride): Works well if dosed correctly; start 10mg. daily for 1 week, then 20mg. daily for another week, then 40mg. daily, as tolerated.
