Absolutely!: Tender trigger points are one of the main characteristics of TMJ problems. These are usually in the jaw muscles or directly over the jaw joint in front of the ear, and can be very tender to touch.

Yes: Yes, however i don't treat TMJ dysfunction. In most instances TMJ dysfunction should be treated non-surgically. Only patients that have failed non-surgical treatment are surgical candidates.

Yes: I realize that fibromyalgia is usually diagnosed with a test that identifies 18 tender points. The jaw joints and face/neck are certainly considered part of the 18. So tender points are present with tmd.

Trigger points?: Do you mean trigger points? Sensitive areas in the muscles around the TMJ are common and can respond to trigger point injections.
