Could be: It is an antihistamine (similar to benadryl, (diphenhydramine) which you can buy over the counter). Because it is sedating, it is sometimes used as a sleep aid, and sometimes also used to treat anxiety. It may well help you fall asleep or stay asleep (recognizing that people have different responses to the same meds, so what works well for one person may or may not work for another).
