I'm getting my tetanus shot soon so how do i make that not hurt?

Don't tense up: This is a simple procedure that hurts the most if you tense up before or during the procedure. The shot is given into the muscle, so none of the surface anesthetics will matter, so don't bother with them.

Relax: The initial pain can be reduced by the injector by gently pinching the skin to be injected. You can reduce the pain by getting your arm into a comfortable relaxed position. Discomfort after the shot will depend on your current immunity.
