Generalized...: If the sore muscles are generalized, then nothing beats a hot tub soak. If it is localized, then ice followed by heat usually provides good relief.

Hydration and: Continued activity. If you have sore muscles from overuse, say after starting up a new workout routine, this can be from a build up of Lactic Acid in the muscle (very common, nothing to worry about). Hydration is key to help rehydrate the muscles and wash out the build up and correct ph. Also, keep moving the muscles to keep them from spasming, and to help them metabolize the la. Hope that helps!
