Vitreous hemorrhage : Without retinal detachment confirmed my b-scan ultrasonography, can be monitored and re-evaluated after a few days or weeks depending upon risk factors and the remainder of your exam. Sleep with the head i the bed inclined, refrain from lifting heavy objects and refrain from bending over.

Vitreous hemorrhage: Can take weeks or months to resolve. Depending on the cause, your ophthalmologist may want to remove the blood with a vitrectomy to make sure there is no damage to the underlying retina. You may not need the surgery really quickly, again depending on the cause of the bleeding. Make sure the surgery is performed by a retinal specialist with training in this procedure.

Yes: Vitreous hemorrhage without retinal damage can be observed as it may improve on its own. Waiting a week is usually a safe plan and allows you the possibility to avoid surgery.
