OTC PAIN RX: Otc (over the counter) pain medication such as Acetaminophen can often be used in addition to nsaids such as Naproxen or Ibuprofen to relieve pain. Combination treatment allows lower doses of each drug to be used , so the incidence of side effects and potential liver or kidney harm is minimized. Prescription tramadol can also be added to the combination under doctor supervision.
