A member asked:

Are there any antihistamines or decongestants you can take that will not raise your heart rate?

Dr. John Chiu answered

Yes: All decongestants can potentially raise your heart rate as would be the first-generation antihistamines such as Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or hydroxyzine. The new-generation antihistamine such as fexofenadine or Loratadine is not expected to affect the heart rate.
