Normal: As the children's book says, everybody farts. Typically, most people pass gas about 15 times a day. If you want to try to decrease the amount of gas you pass and how bad it smells, experimenting with avoiding certain foods (often beans) can help, probiotic foods, like live culture yogurt, can also sometimes help.
