Relax: N. Fowleri is very rare. It is typically found in warm bodies of water, not carpet. All the water in minnesota is frozen now anyway :).

Relax: This amoeba can only exist in an environment that supplies its needed moisture & food, which is not a carpet. (Standing water in ponds, unmoving streambeds, etc.) The dust in the carpet can aggravate allergies but beyond that I can't think of a reason to freak out.

Not to wrry: Naegleria fowleri is transmitted in water. This scenario poses no risk for it.
