Cleaning nightguards: A dental office has additional ways of cleaning appliances such as nightguards. However, especially with "pliable" ones, it may be limited. Often then have to be remade periodically. Discuss this with the dentist treating you.

Yes: Yes, your appliance can be cleaned in the office. Often times we can use the ultrasonic cleaner. This can do a better job than just cleaning at home. Ask your dentist the next time you are in.

Once upon a time!: Years ago it was acceptable to clean a denture etc. In a office's ultrasonic cleaner.Today, even if the office's unit was filled with a bactericid and the appliance kept in an isolated container, the chance of aerosolized microbes contaminating the appliance is high. However, a hygienist w- a sterilized ultrasonic scaler can remove the "heavy stuff" and you buy a amazon sub $100 ultrasonic unit
