Breathing problem?: Septoplasty is usually done to correct a "deviated septum", which is a curving of the cartilage/bone structure that divides the right and left sides of the nose internally. There lots of reasons this might be recommended, but usually it is done because the patient is having difficulty breathing out of one side of the nose.
