A member asked:

Are the essg and amor criteria charts the generally accepted diagnostic tool for spondyloarthropathy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Partly: These are excellent tools. Spondyloarthropathy is diagnosed primarily by history and physical exam. X-rays and MRI can help but may not detect early disease. The hla-b27 blood test needs to be interpreted with caution as it does not prove or disprove the diagnosis of spondyloarthropathy by itself.
