Asthma Bronchitis: It depends how the inhaler was prescribed for your bronchitis and asthma symptoms. Your doctor may have written it as an 'as needed' prescription. Your pharmacist will also be able to better assist. Albuterol may be taken for wheezing/shortness of breath and lasts about four hours. If it is helping the relief is felt quite quickly within the first one hour.
