Hernia: A hernia is the protrusion of an organ or the fascia of an organ through the wall of the cavity that normally contains it from within. Most commonly, with stress on the groin form increased pressure or weight on the area, the intestines can "herniate" though the groin. Some can start out small and slowly progress, some can be immediate and protrude quickly. Surgery is usually the definitive cure.

Hernia: Abdominal hernias do not resolve without surgery. Many a symptomatic hernias can be observed. Symptomatic hernias should usually be repaired. Binders and trusses are recommended for some patients who are not planning to undergo repair. There is no medication to resolve andominal hernias.
