Lungs: Sounds like you may have some fluid in your lungs be it mucus or other fluid. When lying flat, the surface area involved in your lungs increases making you more short of breath. Causes are several including but not limited to chf, pleuritis, rad, asthma variant, mild copd, bronchitis, etc. Etc... Get eval, best wishes.
