Yes and No: The answer depends on the type of cancer, stage of disease and the time lines since treatment. Early (stage 1 and 2) cancers are frequently curable and would not recur once you have gone past 5 years(yet there are rare exceptions of late relapses/between 5 and 10 years since diagnosis. More advanced cancers(stage 3 and 4) are more difficult to cure, yet some patients are cured permanently.
