Could be: Groin lymph nodes are common and could be due to sores in the privates or perineum or other sexually transmitted diseases. Cancer such as lymphoma can cause the same but usually it does not go away unless treated. Hiv can cause swollen lymph nodes but they are usually diffuse in multiple sites..

Not likely but: It is not likely just by having a one swollen lymph node in groin.But we can not tell you for sure what it could be due to. I will suggest you get it checked by your family doctor.Discuss with your parents and get it checked as you are 16 years old.
