A member asked:

Diagnosed with occipital nueralga, prescribed norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) for pain, also taking clonazepam 1mg. is it safe to take together or spaced apart?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on tolerance: And on how many norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen). Starting doses of Clonazepam are in the 0.25- 0.5 mg range, so 1 mg is a hefty dose for this very potent drug. It takes Klonopin about 2 hours to peak, and hydrocodone peaks in an hour or less, so i would time the doses to not have the peaks overlap. There are effective drugs for neuropathic pain (like gabapentin, pregabilin, antidepressants) that don't get you "hooked.".
